If you're redoing a shower in your bathroom remodel, the one thing you must incorporate into the design is a niche. A tiled shower just isn't complete without one. Think about it: You'll need somewhere to put shampoo and soap, so why not have it conveniently within reach inside of an attractive design element. You'll save time and money because you won't have to go shopping for a chintzy looking shower caddy (which will look like an afterthought and likely fall apart), while having a much more elegant, fully integrated storage solution.

Niches can be very simple or more elaborate. You can have a single niche, a niche with a shelf, or multiple niches strategically implemented around your new shower. Using special trim allows the tile edges to be covered up and cleanly meet up with adjacent surfaces. Once you have one, you'll wonder how you ever did without it!
