Don't Forget Your Laundry Room!

Although most of our renovation projects involve kitchens and bathrooms, we need not forget an important and well used space in most homes, which is the laundry room.

We recently had a chance to reconnect with a repeat customer of ours in Pickering, Ontario and we were contracted to completely renovate their laundry room. Even though it was a small space (roughly 8' x 8'), there was plenty of room for improvement.

The customer wanted more easily accessible storage space, and to that end, we decided to remove a closet and replace it with full height, 24" depth cabinets with lots of shelving. We also added new cabinets above the laundry machines, and finished it off with a butcher block countertop and fold-out drying rack above the sink.

A new hexagon tiled floor was installed, the room was painted, and we took care of the trim, sink, and faucet installation. The cabinet maker provided a colour matched crown moulding to wrap around the top of the upper cabinets and the perimeter of the room, which was a nice touch. Another noteworthy feature in the space is the large stainless steel farmhouse style sink.

The homeowner now has a much more practical laundry space that also looks great to go with the hall bathroom we remodeled for them earlier in the year.
